Chuck Shreve's "Lonesome"
Shaded sepia and a faded yellow come together on this bass to create an old-time vibe with ageless good looks. Starting with a custom-built Norton Series III, the bass was treated to a custom blend of hand-mixed dyes and pigments used to brighten the wood, then shade it to a vintage perfection. A thin, faded yellow pinstripe was added to accent the attractive violin shape. Finally, the finish was painstakingly levelled and polished to a high gloss. Whether on a big bandstand or a chicken-wired honky tonk stage, this bass is right at home.
This bass, typical of Norton Customs, is loaded with quality hardware. Despiau bridge, Pacanic adjusters and individual machine heads, along with a custom Pecanic compensated tailpiece and new, patented Norton carbon fiber endpin all contribute to the well-built and worry-free feel of the bass.
