Jim Haggerty Bass

Based on the first-ever Norton / Shen custom Flame-Top bass, this bass was finished for Jim Haggerty, bassist for the Lustre Kings and Wanda Jackson. The look of the Black Cherry bass had caught Jim's eye, so we went with a similar scheme - only with gorgeous, never-ending flamed maple. The sides of the bass are a translucent black (though a little tough to convey in photos), and the bass also features a trans black flame maple tailpiece from Mike Pecanic. The scroll sports individual nickel tuners with custom chrome caps as peg hole close-outs. The bass was set up for slap and pizzicato with a plain gut / Eurosonic string combo, and a single Shadow pickup. The bass has a strong voice and a full, responsive tone.

Jim plays with New York's Lustre Kings, as well as for the First Lady of Rock 'n Roll, Wanda Jackson.
